Content writing, editing & curation
Helping professional services firms and SMEs articulate and amplify their expertise

How can I help?
Tap, tap, tap...
Hello!
Okay, so I'm not a typewriter; I'm a human! A freelance content writer, editor and curator.
I work with you, and, if needed, other collaborators – your in-house team / marketing staff / creatives / consultants – to create content that showcases your expertise, and help you communicate that expertise to your clients (and potential clients).
My superpower: translating technical language (#engineeringese) into plain English.
What's with the typewriter? Glad you asked. While I don't use a typewriter (though I do have a little pink typewriter keyboard!), I (obviously) love writing and its traditional tools - like the typewriter and its always handy sidekick, the red pen...
Need a creative cog in your technical wheelhouse?
Let's create.
Services...
I offer three services: Content writing | Editing | Content plus.
For once-off projects, ad hoc work, or retainers. Whatever suits.

Content writing
All the words from scratch
Print and digital content: website copy, blog posts, LinkedIn content, media releases, feature / industry articles, marketing collateral, capability statements, case studies, team bios, award submissions
Editing
Fine-tuning your words
Refining your language (tone of voice) and proofreading (checking spelling, grammar and consistency) to the full-blown edit: website copy, marketing collateral, capability statements, case studies, annual reports, award submissions, bids / tenders, long-form documents
Content plus
More than words
The whole content process: strategy, content, publishing, amplifying and tracking
Who is Lpt?

Real name: Jeanette Muscat, but most people call me JB.
I love words (obviously), about as much as I love shoes, Basque cheesecake, a well-made Aperol Sour (needs the egg white) and dogs.
I was born and bred in Brisbane (aka Brissie), Australia. After pocketing a journalism degree and freelancing around the traps, primarily in the local music and arts industry, I went for a sticky-beak in the UK.
Two years later, then another four in Dublin (it happens), I realised I loved travelling and meeting people from all over the world as much as I love words.
I cut my journo and copywriting teeth in street press and marketing consultancies, improved my Mac skills typesetting books in a publishing house (which I loved!) and learnt all sorts of things in advertising, PR and digital marketing agencies.
When I eventually returned to Brissie, I combined the fine art of writing and editing with strategic communications, and learnt to balance creativity with the glamorous world of engineering / STEM and other technical fields. Who knew?
In 2012, I scooted across the country to Western Australia – and I’m still here! Although based in Perth, I help clients all over Australia – and beyond.
I've worked in global engineering consultancies, Aurecon and Jacobs (Brisbane and Perth), PR companies (Brisbane and Perth), and the public sector.
I’ve upskilled from print to digital (but still love the print process) and written about everything from the Arts to architecture, property, engineering, mining and construction.
I love getting stuck into messy, technical content.
When I’m not tapping away on my little pink typewriter keys, I’m hanging with our barketing manager, Scout Brown, and adventuring with (and without!) the husband.
Why Lpt?
When choosing a copywriter / content writer, editor or curator, there’s a lot to consider.
There’s a g’zillion content writers out there, so to ensure we’re the right fit, here’s what I offer.
Objectivity
I know you know your business better than anyone. But sometimes being so immersed in your business can make it hard to see and articulate your expertise and communication goals with an impartial eye.
That’s why I’m so gung-ho about the brief. This is my chance to get to know and understand your business – and importantly, offer different insights or ways of seeing your business and communication strategies you may not have thought of. Through this process, Little pink typewriter offers a fresh, detached, external perspective.
Dedicated time & resource
Even if you have considered and articulated your expertise, and even developed a communications strategy and content goals, you might not have the time or resources to implement them.
Besides, isn’t it more valuable to spend your time doing your core business than worrying about your website content, marketing collateral or monthly EDM?
By engaging Little pink typewriter to take care of your content creation, you can focus on your business – or free up time to spend it doing things you’d rather be doing. And because the content has been given the time and attention it deserves, it will be on brand, on message, tailored to your customers, and therefore, create engagement.
Industry experience
While I may not have experience in your industry – and respect your first-hand knowledge and expertise – I’ve had plenty in mine.
I have more than 20 years’ experience across multiple industries, countries and business types, from start-ups and boutique agencies to global corporations, and plenty of places in between, fine-tuning my writing, editing and publishing skills, across diverse platforms for equally diverse campaigns.
Understanding the differences in writing for different communication mediums is just part of what I offer.

Who I work with...
While I write, edit and curate content for diverse sectors and audiences, I specialise in content for professional services firms and SMEs in STEM (science, technology, engineering & maths).
I also work with fellow creatives (graphic designers and web developers) to produce content for The Arts and community sectors, and create projects like our "Alphabet, with a Difference" project for The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF).
You'll see some of my copywriting / content writing, editing and content curation projects on my sporadically updated Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
