Real name: Jeanette Muscat, but most people call me JB.

I love words (obviously), about as much as I love shoes, red velvet cupcakes, a well-made Aperol Sour (needs the egg white) and dogs.

I was born and bred in Brisbane (aka Brissie), Australia. After completing a journalism degree and freelancing around the traps, primarily in the local music and arts industry, I went for a sticky-beak in the UK.

Two years later, then another four in Dublin (it happens), I realised I loved travelling and meeting people from all over the world as much as I love words.

I cut my journo and copywriting teeth in street press and marketing consultancies, improved my Mac skills typesetting books in a publishing house (which I loved!) and learnt all sorts of things in advertising and digital marketing agencies.

When I eventually returned to Brissie, I combined the fine art of writing and editing with strategic communications, and learnt to balance creativity with the glamorous world of engineering / STEM and other technical fields. Who knew?

In 2012, I scooted across the country to Western Australia – and I’m still here! Although based in Perth, I help clients all over Australia – and beyond.

I’ve upskilled from print to digital (but still love the print process) and written about everything from the Arts to architecture, property, engineering, mining and construction.

I love getting stuck into messy, technical content.

When I’m not tapping away on my little pink typewriter keys, I’m hanging with our barketing manager, Scout Brown, and adventuring with (and without!) the husband.
